Designing, developing and launching a game is not the same as making a movie or writing a website although it may share the similar procedure as either of these processes (i.e. designing the assets and interfaces, programming and marketing it). If you’re  aspiring to be an indie game developer or even if you want to go join a game design studio, people will ask you about your experience in this industry and what is a better evidence than to actually make your own game and show them out. Developing a game these days is not as hard as it used to be, thanks to the wide number of easy-to-understand game engines that are out there today. If you are not aware of what a game engine is, it is basically the tool employed in developing, designing, rendering and exporting your game. In this tutorial, we’ll be learning the basic steps involved in the entire process, all the way from planning your game to launching it. For this tutorial, we will be developing a very simple 2D game although, with the lessons that you’ll learn, you can make so many other things with it as well.
